The Research Center is the main office for the Coles County Historical Society. It is located on the Mezzanine level at the Depot in Mattoon.

When artifacts are cataloged they then are added to the collection stored in the Research Center. Once they are cataloged they are also entered into a computer program; a list of these will become available on this web page in the future.

Interested parties can make an appointment and view the artifacts. Schools or teachers interested in having some of the artifacts used for displays or lessons please should contact the CCHS.
